Leah Lucyshyn joined the Mash Strategy team as our newest Graphic Designer at the end of October. Her design background includes work most recently in the agriculture space.
She comes to us from Swift Current, from which we've been reminded is "Where Life Makes Sense." She brings a keen approach to her designs, driving forward with a creative thought process that includes emotion and meaning invested in her work. She's also extremely detail-oriented and dedicated to getting the job done to the highest standards.
Leah has been well-recognized for her performance in the design arena. This past May, she competed in the Skills Canada 2021 Graphic Design competition where she placed first. She is currently preparing to train for Skills Canada 2022 in the hopes of placing on Team Canada for the 2022 Shanghai World Skills. Training for Skills is something that pushes her to work within restrictions, which is when she can really show her design capabilities.
To improve even more, she says she aspires to get into digital animation, which would truly level up her illustration abilities.
Leah draws much inspiration for her work from the designer Paula Scher because of her bold colours and thoughtful typography choices. She envies Paula's ability to switch between modernism and corporate styles with ease. Paula has inspired Leah to start passion projects to spark a fire in areas she can't get out of her 8-5.
And she doesn't just do design for work. Leah also has used it as a great way to give back, providing robust design support for the Saskatchewan Winter Games to help them grow and succeed as an organization.
In Leah's spare time, she loves to coaches powerskate and pursues a side hobby in photography and videography.
A big warm welcome to Leah on joining the Mash team!
